POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Secondary School Teacher to teach languages, Humanities and Sciences in form 1 to form 4. The ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to student development, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.

Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with established curriculum objectives.

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.

Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs.

Monitor and evaluate student performance and development.

Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.

Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.

Participate in extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and sports.

Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and school activities.

Stay updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject area.

Proven experience as a Secondary School Teacher.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to inspire and motivate students.

Proficient in the use of technology and digital learning tools.

THE HEAD TEACHER/PRINCIPAL 

Kingdom Builders is also looking for a dynamic and visionary Head Teacher to lead our Academy. The Candidate should be a well-seasoned Christian with passion for education and a proven track record in effective School leadership. The position requires a strategic thinker who can inspire staff, engage parents, and motivate students while fostering a culture of high achievement academically.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Planning, organizing, and directing activities of teachers in the school and coordinating programs through staff meetings, timetabling, and allocation of teaching load.

Determining school educational program with the limitations set by ministry of education.

Supervising the implementation of activities of the institution.

-Maintaining the discipline of the institution involving teaching staff, support staff and students.

Discussing progress and problems of individual students with parents and recommend on desirable actions.

Preparing the budget estimate for the school.

-Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and other sectors such as NGOs, health etc.

Supervising and coordinating in the implementation of changes in the curriculum in the school.

-Deals with the welfare of members of the institution.

Directing or personally executing administrative and clerical activities duties.

Maintaining scholastic records.

Maintaining administrative records.

Involved in policy making of the institution/spearheading strategic planning.

Reporting on the activities, progress and challenges the institution is making.

Checking teachers’ daily attendance.

Be familiar with the teaching curriculum and all teaching procedures.

Supervise the activities of the Academy.

Ensure efficient and smooth running of the Academy

Supervise the teachers and to ensure that standards are being maintained.

Communicate to teachers on messages from Director.

QUALIFICATION 

Applicants must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Education or its equivalent.

Those with Masters Degrees shall have an added advantage

At least 5 years’ working experience.

Malawi Institute of Tourism has graduated five hundred students from different fields into the tourism sector in Malawi.

During the graduation ceremony of these students in Blantyre on Friday, the Deputy Minister of Education Nancy Chaola Mdooko applauded the institution for equipping the students with skills that will contribute to the development of the Tourism industry in the country by providing professional labor.

“I would like to thank MIT for training these students with the necessary skills, this is in line with Malawi vision 2063. Let me also urge corporates to hire these graduates to provide professional and quality services in their organization” said Mdooko

The graduating students were awarded with Diplomas and certificates in various tourism and hospitality programs. The students were from 2021-2024 cohorts, from all the three campuses of MIT situated in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre.

MIT Executive Director Isabel Tamanda Chakhumbira added that the students were also equipment with entrepreneurship skills to encourage job creation.

“We do not only focus on training our students to seek employment, we also want them to start businesses on their own to create more jobs” said Chakhumbira.

In line with her words, one of the graduating students Dylan Mabvuva, who was studying Professional Cookery said he was planning to start up his own business.

MIT was established in 1975 by the Malawi Government. It is the only recognized government skills training institution in the country and is entrusted with the responsibility of providing hands on training in disciplines related to the tourism and hospitality industry in the country. Specific capacity was built for the school to provide courses in the following areas: Food Production; Housekeeping; Front Office Operations and Food and Beverage Services.
